Tour to Bahamian National Park

National park on Grand Bahama island in the Bahamas.
The beach that it for some reason called Gold Rock even though there is neither nor gold nor rocks. Only golden sand...

Here and there one can see huge tree trunks

In order to get to the beach one has to cross mangrove sanctuary. Mangrove trees are short and grow with their roots in the water. Their roots are so firmly grown into the bottom and they are so firmly connected that even the hurricanes that blow off the roofs and destroy the houses are no danger to them.

Here are these roots. By the way, they says that the city of Saint Petersburg lays on these roots. Is it true? Who knows...

Bahamas: fish fry

Cultural show held on Grand Bahama island in July 2009
Local tradition is to hold so-called fish-fry every Wednesday. The local families drive to the seaside eateries and fry fish and seafood. As it is very (let me stress it again - very!) authentic thing it looks pretty much like this:

Next day there was a cultural show held on the main square. It started with fire show:

The highlight of the show: Bahamian Barbecue

Finally the fire is swallowed:

Acrobats' show. Norwegian Jewel.

Here is a glimpse of a show held onboard the Norwegian Jewel. It was designed, choreographed, put together & performed by talented Ukranian acrobats Denis & Olena
